About Rimado

Rimado makes puzzles to print: large, clear and fair.

On this page you can find out who is behind Rimado and how the puzzles are made.

What is Rimado?

Rimado is a website with puzzles to print: sudoku in 4 × 4, 6 × 6 and 9 × 9 with four levels, and word search with three levels. All puzzles are free, with no sign-up and no third-party ads. They are printed in large type on A4 or US Letter, and the solution is on a separate page. Rimado is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. Organizations may copy the puzzles for their groups.

Who is behind Rimado

Rimado is a small, independent project by Maximilian Vogl from Monheim am Rhein, Germany. Many puzzle books and websites use small print, look cluttered or are full of ads.

Rimado aims to do it differently: large type, clear levels and a calm page.

How the puzzles are made

A computer program creates the puzzles. It checks that every sudoku has exactly one solution and that every word in a word search appears exactly once.

The level depends on the solving steps needed. A very easy sudoku, for example, can be solved without notes.

The word lists for the word searches are created with AI assistance. We check them carefully and keep improving them. If you still spot a mistake, we welcome a note to mail@rimado.org.

Free and without third-party ads

All puzzles on the website are free and need no sign-up. We show no third-party ads and sell no data.

The only advertising is a labeled note about our own app. The app is meant to fund Rimado: a starter set is free, more puzzles come with a one-time purchase.
